About Me:
I have been teaching music since 1983, as a choral director, voice, piano, and guitar teacher, band director, and elementary music teacher. My musical journey has taken me from Marquette to Illinois, and to Norway. After teaching K-12 Music/Chorus at Norway-Vulcan Area Schools for 20 fantastic years, I retired from public school teaching in 2016 to re-open my music studio. I have a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Northern Michigan University, a Master of Music in Education and Voice from Central Michigan University, where I was a teaching assistant as well. I currently sing in the area with my friend and duet partner, Crystal Hogan, direct the Dickinson County Community Chorus Children’s Choir, and I serve as vocal coach for several Dickinson County Community Theater musical productions. I am a WSMA certified Master Adjudicator, and a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). I love working with all ages to make their musical journey an exciting and enjoyable one. Aside from music, I love to read, spend time with my husband Kyle, my friends, visit my son Brian, garden, bike, and play with my dog, Dimitri!
